A warm and welcoming space in London to relax with free tea, activities and wi-fi; all day every Wednesday.

We have comfy places to sit, plenty to read, free tea and a range of physical, creative and social activities to join every Wednesday. Our monthly activity schedule can be found below.

play

Our homely café space is open to everyone from 10:00-17:00 every Wednesday, providing access to free tea and coffee, board games, books, a welcoming community and friendly staff.

drop in

A non-judgemental space where we chat about topics that are important to you and support each other over a warm cup of tea and pastries!

We meet every Wednesday on the brown sofas in the cafe, you can drop in for as long or little as you like.

chess club

Learn the basics of how to play chess and play against other women at our friendly chess club - for experienced players and newbies! A fun hour of chess, tea, good tunes and good chat. No previous experience necessary.

crochet club + 1-to-1 sewing sessions

Come and learn the basics of crochet with Poppy and Jo. Materials, guidance and tea will be provided. No booking required.

Whilst crochet club is happening, Julia, our experienced sewing instructor, will be offering 30-minute one-to-one sessions on her sewing machine to help you learn sewing techniques, repair or make adjustments to your clothes. If you'd like to book a one-to-one, please email projects@thebridge-uk.org.

If you're already a keen crocheter or sewer, you're also welcome to join and bring your own work along to develop. We'd love to hear your tips!

dance movement workshop

Embark on an hour of empowering movement, merging dance's essence with timeless wisdom to elevate body, mind, and spirit.Synchronised breath and movement lead to transcendence, easing tensions and softening the mind. Engaging exercises, rhythmic dance sequences, and free-form movement awaken chakras, revitalising vitality and energy in this dynamic session.

boxing

Get ready to make new friends, get more active and learn a new skill in our friendly all levels boxing class.

In this technical class, you’ll be introduced to boxing and practise drills and combinations to improve your skills, including:

  • Stance
  • Six basic boxing punches
  • Basic defence moves
  • Proper training practise (e.g. how to hold pads properly)
  • Defence techniques
  • Boxing combinations
  • Footwork
  • Range

Dede, the instructor, is a qualified level 1 England Boxing coach who has worked in fitness for over 20 years. She loves to challenge and push people to their limits to reach and surpass their potential – and can’t wait to help you do so with your boxing ability.

trip to kew gardens

Come and connect with nature with us as we explore Kew Gardens together during their community open week.

There will be a variety of immersive, collaborative and inclusive activities that you can drop into, including art projects, grounding meditations and plant science workshops.

We will meet at The Bridge at 9.30am to travel to Kew Gardens together or you can meet us there at 11.00am.

Pre-booking is required, so please email projects@thebridge-uk.org letting us know if you'd like to join the trip. As there are limited spaces available the tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

family yoga

A space for mums, little ones and slightly older kids to breathe, move, shake, jump, laugh, rest and connect together. Join us for breath-led yoga with Zael (@zaelmoves), which combines body awareness and mindfulness, helping us tune into our bodies - and even find moments of calm amidst some chaos.

let's get creative

Join us for an open creative session with materials to draw, paint, colour and create in any form you like! From crochet materials to mosaic pieces, to painting and drawing; get creative however you want to!

Materials provided but feel free to bring your own if you're working on any specific projects.

What is stress? When is it useful and when it it just too much?
This workshop will cover:

  • Introduction to stress: its origins and definition.
  • Role of stress in our lives.
  • Different types of stress.
  • Characteristics and negative impacts of chronic stress.
  • Ways to recognize chronic stress.
  • Good daily habits to avoid becoming overstressed.
  • Stress relief techniques.

swasthya yoga with maria

Maria (@mariazevedoyoga) has been practicing yoga for eight years and teaching for two. Her classes are energetic, yet restorative. They include breathwork, asana, yoga nidra and meditation.

Maria focuses on how to use yoga to increase self awareness and live more intentionally, while sharing her journey.

Come and unwind, lift your mood, and have fun painting using watercolours! Wendy will guide us through the session, encouraging us to have the freedom to paint wherever your mind takes you.

kundalini yoga

The yoga of self-mastery, Kundalini rejuvenates the glandular system and activates self-healing. Through movement, mantra, breath and meditation we bring our nervous systems back into balance and experience an elevated sense of peace, self-esteem and empowerment. Suitable for all ages and all levels. No experience of yoga necessary.

trip to the tower of london

Join us to explore The Tower of London.

We will meet at The Bridge at 11.30 and then walk over to The Tower of London together. We'll leave the Tower of London around 14.30 to walk back to The Bridge or you can head straight home.

mindfulness workshop

Why can living in the present benefit our mental health? In this workshop, we'll think about:

  • Definition and origins of mindfulness.
  • Reasons why our mind feels best when we stay present.
  • Mindfulness exercises.
  • How to implement new habits into our daily routine.

breathwork

Join Iva's breathwork sessions, starting with shaking to loosen tension, then settling in a sacred circle to check the way we breathe without controlling our breath - just noticing where it is in our body and how it flows. Then we will conciously connect to our breath through breathing exercises. Closing with a sacred circle where you can choose to share your experince if you wish.
