This month, The Bridge are teaming up with BOST (Bankside Open Spaces Trust) to host free fitness boot camps for local workers and residents. We want to invite you to get put through your paces by The Bridge's highly qualified and experienced personal trainer, Tonija, in one of Southwark's hidden open spaces. 

The Bridge is a charity based in Southwark, working to reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing by supporting women to make positive life choices. We want to reach more people who need support in changing their health and fitness behaviours by putting on free events for the local community of residents and workers, and these boot camps are one of our projects to make that happen!

BOST is an award winning environmental and volunteering horticultural charity, who are looking to encourage more people to use the free green and open spaces in Bankside – whether for organised fitness, a lunchtime walk or a place to relax with a book.

To spread the word about the importance of using open space in the city and improving health behaviours, we are all venturing out to Marlborough Sports Ground (enter via Redcross Way) for a series of Tuesday morning boot camps, where men and women at all levels of fitness are welcome to join a workout that will bring on the sweat. The sessions begin bright and early at 07:00AM and will run for an hour every Tuesday until the 12th September, when Marlborough Sport Grounds will be shut for refurbishment. (We will be hoping to continue the sessions once this work is complete). On the day of the boot camp, there will also be discounts offered at The Bridge Cafe for any attendee looking for a healthy breakfast after their workout.

The aim from both organisations for the sessions is simple: to get people outdoors and moving in London.

The boot camp will be fun, fresh and forever changing.
