BOX-IT updates: spring edition
by Sylv, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator (and one of the BOX-IT delivery team)
Spring has sprung and the clocks have gone forward. Although the temperature hasn’t been very good to us, the warmer weather is on its way and we’re all looking at a wardrobe we haven’t accessed for a while. Will it fit? That’s the big question.
The schools are back and it’s good to see – I’ve seen some very relieved faces! Teaching your children at home can’t have been easy, especially for those mums who are also trying to work from home at the same time.
As lockdown starts to ease, the roads have become much busier so I would like to start by apologising to those in Surrey Keys who have seen their BOX-IT delivery getting later.
So what’s been catching my eye this month?
Getting physical
One of our women (you know who you are) is taking the stairs down to meet me each week. She’s now progressed to walking around her block while she waits for us – great to see and thank you. I don’t miss those extra stairs!
And I mustn’t forget another woman who’s started to ride a bike, as she said, it’s got easier and safer to ride in Southwark with bike lanes and the parks. Selfie to follow.
Hidden Talents
Someone’s been busy and getting creative - Meet Fido!
Fido was crocheted by one of our gentlemen and given to me as a gift. He’s made quite a few for friends and family, all different breeds, such a lovely thought.
And last but not least…
Yes we have our first new-born. It’s a girl!
Welcome to Valerie who came just in time for Easter.
Congratulations to the whole family!
The Bridge has now reopened but BOX-IT is still running and just as in demand as ever.
